Rialto’s World Music Festival kicks off with the concert Choral Crossroads 2022 on Sunday 17th of July at SEK parking space (behind Rialto Theatre).
Choral Crossroads is an institution of Epilogi Cultural Movement that started in 2011 with Youth Choirs from 8 countries and the participation of 400 choir members and continued in 2013, 2018 and 2019 with the participation of hundreds of choirs from Europe and the Arab world. This institution continued in 2021, where, in the midst of a pandemic, 42 choirs from Jordan, Hungary, Greece, Lebanon, France and Cyprus, using technology, united their voices by performing the well-known Cypriot song "The Milia".
In this year's event, choirs from Europe and the Arab world meet again with choirs from Cyprus, creating together a choir and an original program which combines the musical tradition of their countries, with songs dedicated to woman and life. The result of the four-day collaboration (14th – 17th of July) of this multinational choir will be presented to the public, in the context of Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival.
Choir members participate from Jordan (Nai Choir), Lebanon (Université Saint - Joseph Choir), Greece (Choir of I.N. Methodios and Kyrillos of Thessaloniki), Serbia (Music College of Belgrade) and Cyprus (Epilogi Choirs).
Artistic Direction: Michalis Gregoriou
