What’s the Story? Cyprus 2024 - Open Call

The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) invites for the third consecutive year short filmmakers to participate in the international intensive workshop What's the Story?  The workshop is part of the Talents Generator Factory (TGF) initiative.

What is it?

What’s The Story? Cyprus is an intensive five-day short film development writing workshop – part of the Talents Generator Factory initiative.

The workshop is led by two experienced tutors and will require active participation and a mindset open to collaboration from all participants. The work will be conducted both in class during the face-to-face hours and in between the meetings, with specific tasks and assignments to be accomplished for the following day.

Approximately one month after the conclusion of the workshop, TGF will provide online pitch training for all course participants. In the following weeks, participants will meet various international producers interested in co-producing short films. The meetings will be held online and managed by TGF. Additionally, participants can publish a summary sheet of their project on the TGF website to promote their developing film. The sheets can be updated as the film progresses in development.

After the conclusion of the workshop and the submission of the required final materials, one participant per workshop will be chosen by the tutors to further develop the film script. The development will be held online in the months following the end of the workshop and it will be guided by one of the two tutors. The meetings will take place online and will be aimed at further developing a complete draft of the short film script.

The selected participant will be then invited to take part in a live pitching session with industry professionals where to present their short film project to be held in Bolzano, during the industry days of Bolzano Film Festival in 2025. Accommodation (B&B) will be provided by TGF. Travel and food expenses will be covered by the participant.
