The tenth anniversary edition of the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus premieres this coming Saturday, October 10th, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol. The Festival launches its screenings' programme while complying with all the necessary health and safety measures against the spread of covid-19.
On the opening night, the organisers are preparing a short opening ceremony on stage at the Rialto Theatre. The usual outdoor opening event will not take place at the Heroes' Square this year, due to the restrictive measures. Following the opening ceremony, the first festival screenings will begin, showcasing short films by Cypriot and international filmmakers.
The Festival programme presents short films from 35 different countries from across the globe, while six thematic programmes will enhance the main competition section. Throughout the festival week, the five-member international jury will be viewing the films - either by physical presence or virtually - and will be deciding on the awards. The Awards ceremony will be held at the Rialto Theatre, on Friday, October 16th 2020.
