The 4th DOT.ON.THE.MAP INDUSTRY DAYS announce its PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

Dot.on.the.Map Ιndustry Days, the co-production, training and networking platform for film industry professionals of the 21st Cyprus Film Days IF, will hold its fourth edition in Limassol, Cyprus (27 – 29 April, 2023). Τhe CFD IF is an institutional event of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture, organised by the Department of Modern and Contemporary Culture in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre.


During the 3-day event, producers, directors and scriptwriters from the Mediterranean region, will have a unique opportunity to pitch their feature length fiction film projects to members of the international film industry, in Cyprus. Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days provides an excellent opportunity to network with industry professionals from across Europe, and the MENA region, and to explore co-production and distribution opportunities, discuss new projects in development, and pursue cross border collaborations.

PROGRAMME


With an aim to provide educational and networking opportunities for film professionals, Dot.on.the.Map Ιndustry Days presents a series of events, panel discussions, and masterclasses intended exclusively for accredited industry professionals.


Friday 28 April, 2023


11:00 Pitching Session (Rialto Theatre)

Dot.on.the.Map will officially launch its activities on Friday, 28 April, 2023 at 11a.m. with the pitching session at the Rialto Theatre. Teams of producers - directors with projects originating from countries of the Mediterranean region will "pitch" their new feature length fiction film projects within the Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point co-production forum, to representatives of the international film industry. Following group works and individual meetings, the filmmakers will take steps towards forming future collaborations with other filmmakers, international producers, financiers, sales agents, broadcasters, distributors, festival and film fund representatives. The Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point co-production forum is implemented in partnership with Agora, Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

14:15 PANEL DISCUSSION: Investment Incentives in Cyprus: Cyprus Film Commission – Invest Cyprus

Lefteris S. Eleftheriou, Chairman of the Cyprus Film Commission, will talk about the incentives of the film scheme and the experience gained in recent years. He will be joined on the panel by producers Marios Piperides & Janine Teerling, (AMP Filmworks) and Stelana Kliris (Meraki Films) who will reflect on their experience working closely with the Cyprus Film Commission.

15:45 ΜΑSTERCLASS From script drafts to film screenings: The importance of film marketing in every stage

Vicky Miha, Consultant & Producer at Asterisk* Films [GR], will walk us through the full process of creating the marketing strategy for projects in development and completed films. Through a series of case studies, Vicky will illustrate the way marketing can impact a project, from the first draft to the time it meets its audience.

From watching screeners to curating the festival line-up, programmers are the beating heart of film festivals. On this panel, programmers of international film festivals will share their expertise and explain curatorial strategies. On the panel: Delly Shirazi [Rotterdam IFF], Sebastian Markt [Berlinale Generation], Bassam Alassad [Amman IFF], and Νicolas Feodoroff [FidMarseille]. The discussion will be moderated by film festival programmer and distribution manager, Celine Roustan [Films Grand Huit, France].

A live conversation with French film director and CFD Jury President Julie Bertuccelli, and Davide Abbatescianni [Cineuropa]
