20th Cyprus Film Days International Festival - Closing on Saturday 16/4 @Rialto Theatre

The 20th Cyprus Film Days IFF concludes this Saturday 16th April 2022 at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol, with a dazzling ceremony befitting the celebratory occasion of this 20th edition.

The Festival culminates with the screening of .dog directed by Cypriot filmmaker Yianna Americanou who explores the human sense of belonging from a social point of view. The film received the Special Youth Jury Award at the 2021 edition of Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

A spectacular closing ceremony of Cyprus Film Days 2022, directed by Paris Erotokritou and presented by Kika Georgiou, will follow immediately after the screening, during which the festival awards will be announced and presented to the winners. The show will undeniably have a celebratory character, spanning the festival’s history through film titles that left an indelible mark during these past 20 years.

During the closing ceremony, the awards will be announced and the motivations of the 5-member international jury will be presented, both in the Glocal Images International Competition Section and in the Cypriot Films Competition Section. The jury consists of prominent personalities from the international film community.

The following awards will be given: Glocal Images Best Film Award (€6000), Glocal Images Special Jury Award (€3000), Glocal Images Best Director Award (€1000), Best Cypriot Film Award (€4000), Best Cypriot Director Award (DCP Mastering - Deliverables & subtitling services worth of €3500 sponsored by Authorwave) and Best Actor/Actress Award in a Cypriot film (€500, offered by Limassol Municipality).

The Audience Award will also be announced and presented to the festival’s most popular film as voted by the viewers. Films from both competition sections (Glocal Images & Cypriot Films) are competing for the Audience Award.

A closing party will follow right after the awards ceremony.
