Asomates Dynameis celebrates 25 years of creativity with Land of Darkness / Land of Light, a work of contemporary dance and classical music. Death and the Maiden by Frantz Schubert has been an inspiration for us to speak through the body, about the personal and the collective encounter with life and death. The piece also leads us to reflect on our relationship with fear, loss and decay, as well as on the infinite attraction of light and the power of life.

5,6 Aristos by Yiorgos Papageorgiou

A critically acclaimed play based on the famous novel by Thomas Korovinis Wall of Death.
Nine characters connected to Aristidis Pagkratidis, the notorious Greek serial killer known as the “Ogre of Seikh Sou”, illustrate his profile. His friend from the neighbourhood, his mother’s chambermaid, the porter at the harbour, the kiosk keeper - a paramilitary traitor, a democratic gendarme, a conservative bourgeois, his boss at the fair, as well as trans Lolo and a pop singer - his two lovers, all come alive on stage incarnated by the three main actors.

Following a series of performances at the historic Theatro Technis located at Frynihou street, Athens, singer Thodoris Voutsikakis accompanied by piano player Neoklis Neofytidis and violinist Vasilis Rapsaniotis, unfold the magic of songs selected by famous Greek songwriter Lina Nikolakopoulou. Embellishing the musical storytelling with small texts, small poems and small pauses, they add some sparkle to the roughness of our life.

15 Macumba and guests

Macumba band is celebrating its 5-year anniversary presenting a unique show featuring many guest participations of renowned musicians and music groups from all over Cyprus. Born in Cyprus, the band moves towards Latin, Jazz and World music directions and paths. The collaboration between Elias Ioannou, Giorgos Morfitis, Rodrigo Caceres and Rodos Panayiotou brings a new vibe to the music scene of the island. Afrocuban and Brazilian rhythms and colours become blended through a modern jazz aesthetic, and the result is recorded in their album Como Jugando, released in 2019.
Macumba have presented their frenzy dance jazz music in various festivals and concert grounds with great success in Cyprus and abroad such as UNESCO’s Gardens of Sound Music Festival in Poland, ATJF Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival, Windcraft Festival, Rialto World Music Festival, Aglajazz Festival etc. The band has collaborated with prominent personalities of the European Jazz and World music scene such as Nils Fischer and Alberto Caisedo. Macumba will be performing music from their debut album Como Jugando, as well as a new repertoire from their upcoming album.

27 The Guitar Project DIMITRIS PAPANGELIDIS

Dimitris Papangelidis, one of the greatest Greek guitarists of our time, shares the stage with eight friends, all talented musicians and instrumentalists.
A fascinating concert where the guitar plays a lead, from classical music to jazz, accompanied by a cello, two mandolins, a soprano, one more classical guitar and, finally, a jazz trio (piano, double bass and percussions) performing works by Manuel de Falla, Villa Lobos, Claude Bolling et al. A concert paying tribute to the guitar, full of soul and emotions, coming alive in the skillful hands of Dimitris Papangelidis.
