The twelfth edition of the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus is preparing to welcome the cinephile public with a rich and varied programme of screenings. Alongside its main Competition section, which will host innovative contemporary films in their first nationwide screening, the Festival will present a series of original thematic screenings and events, with the aim of promoting and enjoying the art of short films.

Words on Film
Sunday 9 October 2022, 17:30 - 19:30, At the Old Vinegar House
Words, image and sound! This year’s edition takes the audience on a literary journey traversing the art of Cinema. The parallel programme “Words on Film” reveals the inherent connection between literature and the moving image. In the first part of the programme, four talented Cypriot writers (Kyriakos Margaritis, Antonini Smyrilli, Aimilios Solomou, Erina Charalambous) will present their work inspired by four exceptional short films without dialogue. A live recitation session will be accompanying the screening of each short film. In the second part of the event, Yiorgos Trillidis and Dimitris Nollas will engage in a discussion about the relationship between literature and cinema.

TSFM Word-Frame Cyprus
10 - 14 October 2022, Rialto Theatre
A training workshop for short film filmmakers by Talents and Short Film Market.
TSFM Word-Frame Cyprus is an intensive workshop aimed at guiding eight directors and/or screenwriters from Cyprus and the neighbouring Mediterranean countries in the making of a short fiction or hybrid film. The workshop will provide to the eight selected participants the basic knowledge and working tools useful for writing a script and realising a short film. TSFM Word-Frame Cyprus will take place from 10 to 14 October 2022 at the Rialto Theatre.
