Kypria International Festival 2019 presents Oriantheatre, a contemporary dance and multimedia company, founded in 2006 in Iran and re-formed in France in 2011, under the artistic direction of Mehdi Farajpour.

Millions of spectators around the world will have the opportunity to watch in recorded screening the 15th edition of André Rieu’s spectacular open air concert in his hometown Maastricht. André Rieu is one of the world’s most popular music artists. Together with his Johann Strauss Orchestra, he has turned his unique blend of classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts, regularly appearing on the worldwide list of highest-grossing touring artists.

14-15 Italian Film Days

The Italian Embassy in Cyprus presents the second edition of the “Italian Film Days”, a film festival organised in collaboration with the Italian film production company IMAGO, the Rialto Theatre in Limassol and other theatres in Cyprus. It aims at showcasing some of the best recent Italian film productions to Cypriot audiences. In order to enhance the viewing experience, the Festival will feature VIP guests from Italy, video interviews with actors/directors before each screening, informative material and the possibility for the audience to interact through ratings and discussions.  

20 Mirela Pachou | The Burger Project @Heroes’ Square

Kanali 6 celebrates its 28th anniversary at Heroes’ Square and organises a three-day programme of events, with the support of Limassol Municipality and KEO, in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre. The programme opens with a concert by celebrated Greek singer and musician Mirela Pachou and her band, inviting the audience to an upbeat dance party. The concert will be followed by the famous musicians and entertainers, the Burger Project, performing popular cover songs in their own unique style.

The celebrations for the anniversary of Kanali 6 continue at Heroes’ Square with the band “Arhi dia tou Rebetikou” accompanied by celebrated rebetiko singer Yiorgos Tzortzis. With the support of Limassol Municipality and KEO, in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre. 

22 Rock Festival @Heroes’ Square

The programme of events celebrating the anniversary of Kanali 6 culminates at Heroes’ Square with the Rock Festival, welcoming in this year’s edition the Coop Band, Lopodytes, Minus One and Kyklos Music Stage. With the support of Limassol Municipality and KEO, in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre 

24 Nikos Kavvadias

A musical tribute to Nikos Kavvadias, presented within the framework of the Rialto Theatre’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The tribute presents poems by Kavvadias set to music by Th. Mikroutsikos, Xembarkoi, M. Koch, G. Spanos and D. Zervoudakis. 

 

Singer: Rita Antonopoulou. With: Michalis Pourgourides, Konstantinos Stylianou, Barbara Lucas (violin), Alexandros Papacharalambous (wind instruments), Kostas Challoumas (acoustic bass, piano). Orchestra coordinator: Konstantinos Zorpas. With actors Yiannos Antoniou and Constantinos Alkiviades. 

27 Cyprus Symphony Orchestra | FINLANDIA

Join the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra on a captivating journey to the alluring musical sounds of Finland, with compositions by Jean Sibelius, one of the most important symphonists of Finland, widely recognised at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. J. Sibelius: Andante festivο [Cyprus premiere], Violin concerto in D minor, op. 47, Symphony no. 3 in C major, op. 52 [Cyprus premiere].
