The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus

The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus presents a diverse showcase of the best short films from Cyprus and from around the world. It awards the work of talented filmmakers who successfully use creative cinematic language forms and effectively tell a story in a short film.
Fictional, animated shorts and documentaries up to a maximum of 25 minutes compete for the festival’s awards and prizes worth more than 20,000 Euros.
The ISFFC’s jury for both sections is comprised each year by acclaimed and well known film professionals, academics and festival organizers from around the world. ISFFC, a comprehensive and exciting cinematic experience for everybody who loves short films. Τhe 1st edition of the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus is dedicated to the great Cypriot director from Lemesos, Michalis Kakoyiannis.
Address by the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Andreas Christou, on the occasion of the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, 15-22 October 2011
It is with great pleasure that I welcome the 6th International Short Film Festival to our town. Through tributes, events, workshops and dozens of international and Cypriot short films, this competitive festival presents our town with a panorama of film genres and attractions.
The Municipality of Limassol supports this film event, which is organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Rialto Theatre, as we believe that such activities develop a fertile creative environment and promote and encourage independent films and communication channels between the creators and the audience, thus putting Limassol on the map of international film and cultural events.
We welcome this Festival with great affection, as it is dedicated –in our opinion, appropriately- to our grand director Michael Cacoyiannis, who passed away a few weeks ago and whose international work honours our town, honours our homeland.
We congratulate the organisers, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Rialto Theatre, the Art directors and all the participating partners, and wholeheartedly wish them all success.
